Contribution rules

Contributions to John Deaton for Senate Inc. are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

All contributions are subject to the following limits: the maximum amount an individual or federal non-multicandidate PAC may contribute is $7,000, which is $3,500 for the 2026 primary election and $3,500 for the 2026 general election; a couple, out of joint funds and with both signatures, may contribute up to $14,000, which is $7,000 for the 2026 primary election and $7,000 for the 2026 general election; a federal multicandidate PAC may contribute up to $5,000 per election.

Contributions in any amount from corporations, labor organizations, national banks, foreign nationals without green cards, and federal government contractors are prohibited.

Federal law requires us to use best efforts to collect and report the name, address, occupation, and employer of each individual whose aggregate contributions exceed $200 per two-year election cycle.
